You will notice I have quoted the Berean Call in a couple of postings. Here's why:
The Berean Call web site describes their effort (The Berean Call) in the following way:
Sometimes I've read their material and in the back of my mind I've thought, "Would you two crusty old farts lighten up a little? Everything, we disagree with in this world isn't a threat to the True Faith! Unclench a little!"
And then later experience, increasing maturity and the Spirit have moved to show me that there was more to what they were saying than I understood. Their writing has often humbled me in this way. Today, I read "The Berean Call" with a lot more respect.
Ultimately, I hope to take their teaching, as with all things, to the feet of the Father in prayer and then strop the blade of the Sword of the Spirit, (which is the Word) across it a few times and see how it holds together.
Today I understand that this is all those two crusty old farts ever wanted us to do...
Take a peek for yourself. Their newsletter, (which I believe to be excellent,) is free as is a lot of material on their site. Go to http://www.thebereancall.org and see for yourself.
Tell them "The Unclean Vessel" sent ya (and watch them get really confused because that won't mean anything to them! [grin!])
The Berean Call web site describes their effort (The Berean Call) in the following way:
"Seven years after the release of The Seduction of Christianity in 1985, its authors, Dave Hunt and T.A. McMahon, also joined forces on another front. They began a ministry for the purpose of encouraging spiritual discernment among those who regarded themselves as biblical Christians. The primary vehicle for this endeavor was through the publication of the newsletter The Berean Call. Behind every article is the exhortation to believers to get back into the Word of God instead of being “carried about by every wind of doctrine,” and to equip them with materials to help them walk in the truth."
