REMINDER
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

My Heart Breaks, I Rejoice!

Monday evening Robert Steinkamp of Rejoice Marriage Ministries went home to be with the Lord. I cannot overstate the impact he and his wife, Charlyne, have had on my life and the lives of my children. The following is the tribute posted at the Rejoice Marriage Ministries website by Charlyne and also by Charlyne and Bob's daughter, Lori:

IN LOVING MEMORY OF
ROBERT E. STEINKAMP

December 28, 2010, 2:00 A.M.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
2 Timothy 4:7

Bob has been healed! Bob has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Lori wrote the short message below that Bob was healed completely Monday evening at 9:45 P.M. Lori came over and spent the day with her dad and me before she flies out to Cincinnati tomorrow, Tuesday. I had called Hospice yesterday (Sunday) to come and visit us early today as Bob had more chest pain on Saturday night and all day Sunday. We had a very special night of prayer Sunday night with many family members with Bob and he took communion. Sunday night he slept and did not wake up with pain at all. Suddenly Monday afternoon shortly after 2 P.M. Bob had another heart attack. He became unconscious right away and died in the evening. God's plan and timing is perfect. I, Lori and Tom had a very special time with Bob and Tim was in contact with us all the time by telephone as he, his wife and two children with Lori's husband, Scott and their three children were all headed to Ohio. Lori leaves Tuesday afternoon on a plane for Ashley's surgery on Wednesday around 7:30 A.M. (see http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ashleylassen)

We continue to ask for your prayers as funeral arrangements will be pending until Ashley gets to come home from Cincinnati; with no complications, probably by the weekend. Next week I and our children will plan Bob's celebration service knowing that Bob is in Heaven seeing Jesus, his parents, my parents and his two little grandchildren running up and down streets of gold, healed, worshiping and praising the Lord. Thank you for all your prayers and cards during his illness. Words cannot express the love that we have felt throughout this period of time. I love you all. I believe I know and understand why we have the miracle billboard up in Ft. Lauderdale at this specific time! Praise The Lord!

Written by Lori:
Jesus has healed Bob. Earlier this evening, Bob was welcomed into the arms of the Lord. We appreciate your prayers and encouraging words over these last few months. This is not a failure, as Bob has had the ultimate healing. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Amen.

Pretty much a sinner through and through. I have two daughters and a son. God has blessed me over and over on a scale that defies any relationship to my faithfulness to Him. I'm just trying to do right by the people I know and love more of them better, (while practicing hard at being a grumpy old man.)
