REMINDER
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

That's Better...

Y'know,I've got something on my mind about a local ministry that has been bothering me. And, though I want to stomp and snort and flap my arms about it all, the truth is that I'll just be another person sowing miscontent and confusion if I vent to anyone but God.

I guess I'd rather not. So let's praise God instead.

I love the song by Accapella "To Him Who Sits on the Throne":

To Him Who sits On the throne And unto the Lamb
Be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever!

I've got it on the player as I write.

"Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love.

Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness. Mount Zion rejoices, the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments.

Walk about Zion, go around her, count her towers, consider well her ramparts,
view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation.

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end."
- Psalm 48:9-14

and the end of Psalm 22, that wonderful prophesy of the crucifixion which ends with praise...

"I will declare your name to my brothers;
in the congregation I will praise you.
You who fear the Lord, praise him!
All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!
Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!
For he has not despised or disdained
the suffering of the afflicted one;
he has not hidden his face from him
but has listened to his cry for help.

From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;
before those who fear youe will I fulfill my vows.
The poor will eat and be satisfied;
they who seek the Lord will praise him—
may your hearts live forever!
All the ends of the earth
will remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations
will bow down before him,
for dominion belongs to the Lord
and he rules over the nations.

All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.
Posterity will serve him;
future generations will be told about the Lord.
They will proclaim his righteousness
to a people yet unborn—
for he has done it.
- Psalm 22:22-31

And now I think I can sleep.

We praise you Lord Jesus!

The Unclean Vessel is...

Pretty much a sinner through and through. I have two daughters and a son. God has blessed me over and over on a scale that defies any relationship to my faithfulness to Him. I'm just trying to do right by the people I know and love more of them better, (while practicing hard at being a grumpy old man.)
