God's Will... In Our History, too!

Tonight I was watching a show that was discussing the many assassination attempts upon Hitler’s life. I have long held a suspicion that seems so monstrous that I’ve never shared it in public for fear of being labeled anti-Semitic. (That is anything but the truth.)

I have long suspected that God allowed the holocaust because Zionism and the creation of modern Israel were a direct result of that monstrosity. Likewise the freakish series of cartoonish device failures, interruptions, schedule changes, etc. that foiled well over 30 credible attempts to assassinate Hitler just seems to have God’s fingerprints all over them.

It has always reminded me of the way God held up Pharaoh for the plagues even after Pharaoh wanted to quit. I believe that God loves the Jews. I believe they remain His Chosen People.

The modern history of the Middle East is amazing. There were almost 2,000 years during which the general outlines of the Old Testament world were erased. Beginning with 20th century Iran, the biblical world re-emerged in geographic states that loosely recreate the Old Testament world.

By the 1930s the only piece missing was a Jewish state of Israel. In spite of vicious persecutions of Jews, they remained in dispersion. The call for the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine was weak. For example, they considered themselves "Germans who were Jewish" rather than "Jews living in Germany". Most could not even consider the idea of pulling up stakes and leaving home for the Zionist dream of a restored Israel.

Then the Holocaust came and shook these entrenched Jewish populations loose. Even those who survived the war and survived the death camps found they could not return to their homes. For many, Israel was the only choice.

The Holocaust also created limited international support to help the émigrés surmount the tremendous hurdles that were yet to be overcome. I believe the story of the creation of Israel is punctuated by a series of miracles, and much of that story lays on the foundation of the truly unimaginable, monstrously evil Holocaust.

That's a horrifying thought for those who believe God's management of His creation is for our comfort. Reconciling the idea of God using the Holocaust and the idea of God's love for humans requires God's Word... ...because those ideas are contradictory in worldly reasoning.

God has promised to take man's monumental wrongs and advance His Kingdom. (Of course, if man had not created the Holocaust, I still believe God would have created modern Israel.)

What lesser wrongs in our lives do we believe He cannot transform?

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Repent... Turn Around... Come to Him...

There are two lessons in business that I've found to also be true in my walk with God...

...from my training in college I was taught the Fallacy of Sunk Cost Bias:

When you get into a large project you will be tempted to use the amount you have already spent as a justification for future spending. That is a fallacy. The money that you have yet to spend should only be spent if it will earn sufficient return to justify the additional investment. The money already spent is gone and must not influence the decision.

...and in my career I was taught The Law of First Loss:

Simply put, "The first loss is the least loss." Catastrophic, career-ending losses are usually the result of a person trying to avoid a loss by pumping more money into a past mistake. Losses can always get bigger, so recognize your losses when they're found and if you do proceed, be certain to establish narrow goals, timelines, and have an exit strategy ready to fire.

Both of these rules have proven valuable in business. They have each helped me to avoid mistakes that my heart longed to make. How very much those business principles mirror our needs for decision-making on sin.

Sometimes businesses find themselves facing hard decisions that involve losses. Likewise, sometimes we Christians find ourselves facing hard decision about sin. How the enemy got us isn't that important. Maybe it was willful, maybe it was unintentional, maybe it was a slippery slope... What is important is that we receive the awareness that we've fallen short.

Usually the very knowledge that we've fallen is a gift of God's Love reaching out to us. He gently points it out to us, just as He did for Adam and Eve after the fall in Eden.

God called out, "Where are you?"
- - Genesis 3:9

God knew where they were. He wanted Adam and Eve to look where they were.

Sometimes our minds pretend God doesn't know what we've done. Isn't it silly? But we do!And we weren't the first! Adam and Eve thought they could hide from God, too! Think about that... ...hiding from the all-knowing Lord Almighty... ...isn't that just like us?

"Where are you?"

Then, once we acknowledge we are in sin, the deception cranks up a notch. We hear those same old lies:

"This is the best I can do."
"I can't go back now."
"They'll never forgive me."
"It's too late."
"I've ruined it now. It can't be fixed."
"I'm too far gone. I can't be fixed"
"What if they found out all that I've done?"

Man's heart is hard, but God's Love is perfect and the story of God's love is the story of transforming human hearts. God transforms the hearts of others and our own. Where we see the problem He sees a beloved child in trouble. Where we see despair, He sees a new beginning with all of the promise of a brand new day.

In the same curse where He damned the serpent in Eden, He gave the prophecy of His Son's coming to redeem us from our sin.

At the same time that He banned Adam and Eve (and us) from the Garden, He posted Cherubim to protect the trail to the Tree of Life so it cannot be destroyed and that we may all eat of that tree with Him forever. (see Rev. 22:2)

At the same time God called out, "Where are you?" He already knew that He would send His Son to die for that sin and He began the work of calling lost sinners home to Him that coninues to this day.

We find ourselves in sin. Neither the path that we used to get there, the price we have paid for being there, nor the blame for us going or being in sin matter. The direction of the next step is the issue that counts. We must make the sometimes wrenching decision to repent. But take heart!

"On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
- Matt 9:11-13 NIV

Sinners are the focus of what Jesus is all about. Jesus ministry was all about seeking and saving and seeking and saving. The fall in Eden gave birth to this promise, God's promise, in Revelation:

“Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.

He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

- Rev 21:3-6

Remember, this promise is for "He who overcomes..."
not "He who never stumbles..."

Thank you Lord!

Go to Him. He will change hearts, he will take your wrong and use it for His good. He will pave your way. He can restore what was lost. He has restored you to Him, if you will have it.
Please consider this... Can anyone be more to blame for Jesus having to go to the cross to die than Adam? Can you not lay a portion of every sin committed by every person through all time at Adam's feet? Doesn't Romans 5:15 about Adam:

"...many died by the trespass of the one man..."

Many? Try millions and millions! With all of this laid upon him, don't forget the New Testament descriptions of Adam in God's Word. Adam's decsription is found in the family tree in Luke chapter 3:

"...the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God."

Lord, please, may we be found Your children, also!

Wonderful! Wonderful!

Ephesians 3:14-21

"When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.

And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.

And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.

May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages. Amen."

Definition: Love

A major hurdle in logic is that of definition. To truly understand each other we have to try and arrive at a common understanding of the elements we are discussing before we can really share a conclusion. The problem of definition is commonly present when we quote John 3:16 to people:

“For God so loved (Agape) the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
- John 3:16 NIV

We sometimes run into the problem that people's definitions of "love" vary so greatly. Depending on the definition you use, this this passage could take on a wide variety of meanings. Having watched television lately, some peoples idea of love may be kind of scary to consider!

Of course, the real meaning in this passage is what God intends when He says "Love". The word underlying Love in this passage is "Agape". So to find what this passage means we have to find out what God means by "Love/Agape".

Some might want to use a definition out of a Greek textbook, but we're in luck! We don't need man's analysis because God gave us His definition of what Agape means right in the New Testament. That definition is found in 1 Corinthians chapter 13, (commonly called, "The Love Chapter".)

“But eagerly desire the greater gifts.
And now I will show you the most excellent way.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love (Agape), I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love (Agape), I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love (Agape), I gain nothing.

Love (Agape) is patient, love (Agape) is kind. It (Agape) does not envy, it (Agape) does not boast, it (Agape) is not proud. It (Agape) is not rude, it (Agape) is not self-seeking, it (Agape) is not easily angered, it (Agape) keeps no record of wrongs. Love (Agape) does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It (Agape) always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love (Agape) never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love (Agape). But the greatest of these is love (Agape).”
- 1 Corinthian 12:31-13:13

Accept no human reasoning, use God's definition of Love! Now, let’s diagram the key points of this definition, if only very simply:

Love (Agape) Is:

Patient
Kind

Love (Agape):

Keeps no record of wrongs
Rejoices with the Truth

Love (Agape) Is Not:

Proud
Rude
Self-seeking
Easily angered

Love (Agape) Always:

Protects
Trusts
Hopes
Perseveres

Love (Agape) Does Not:
Envy
Boast
Delight in Evil

God tells you what His Love is and what it isn’t. He tells you what Love does and what Love does not do. Frankly, God's Love is very extreme! As is often the case, God’s perfection is simple, but impossibly difficult.

Love, to God, is an all encompassing, all forgiving, perfect Love. Doesn't it give you chills knowing that the Creator of the Universe, God Almighty feels that Love for you right this moment?

Now hold onto that big warm fuzzy while you consider this: WE are ALSO commanded to Love just the same way God Loves us. WE are to Love with Agape! Scared yet? Take a look at this small sampling of the commands:

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church…”

“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you…”

“love your neighbor as yourself.”

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

“This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,”

“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,…”

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

“We love because he first loved us.”

“We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.”

If your heart just dropped and your mind just said, “It’s too much! I can’t do that!” then congratulations! You understand these commands. If you aren’t overwhelmed, then you missed the scale of what's being commanded. This is a command and an overwhelming load that no human can possibly bear alone.

Praise God! We are not alone! We can do these things to the extent that we allow God to do these things through us. As Paul and John said so clearly:

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
- Philippians 4:13 NIV

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
- 1 John 4:7

Y'know, it is a pleasure to have you visit this blog. A prayer is that you find Jesus held up and glorified in this.

But y'know, the most wonderful thing would be if you were to stop for a moment right now and tell God, Our Father, what is on your heart right now.

Would you do that right now?

Please?

God bless you and much Love to you.

The Homosexual Distraction

Am I the only person who is getting really frustrated with the amount of talk we hear from pulpits and ministries about homosexual sin?

Granted, homosexual activist are aggressively pursuing an agenda to normalize homosexuality through a variety of cultural and political mechanisms. This does bring the issue to the forefront and create additional concern for many Christians right now. But, let's leave that off the table for a moment.

Let’s look at two important points regarding the homosexuality discussion:

1) Let's not soft-peddle this, the issue is Cowardice.

To stand up in front of a church full of heterosexual Christians and denounce homosexuality is generally an act of cowardice. Why, you ask? Simple: Over 50% of most congregations are divorced and in adulterous 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) marriages, roughly 80% of the church body is inactive in any ministry or outreach for Christ and by any measure a majority of the attendees are "sold out" to secular values and materialism.

To stand up in front of this crowd and denounce homosexuals, (who are not present and won't make waves,) is just plain cowardice! The Pharisee's worked this same angle and Jesus called them on it:

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."
- Matthew 7:3-5 NIV

2) Jesus and Homosexuality.

Homosexuality was abundant in the Roman Empire at the time of Christ*. Have you ever noticed how much time Jesus spent preaching against homosexuality? None! Nada! Zip!

Simply put, homosexuality is just a sin. The key to overcoming sin is SALVATION! Although this verse is a little out of context, there is no question that it also pertains to this issue as well:

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
Matthew 6:33 NIV

Let’s recap…
Here are the alternatives:

Save their souls
(and homosexual behavior will stop as God's Spirit transforms them. )
OR

Stop acceptance of their views of sex
(but leave their souls untouched so they will spend eternity in Hell.)

Jesus left no doubt where his concern was: He came to seek and to save the lost. Should we do any less?

Has political activism become a distraction which allows us to neglect the REAL purpose of our calling? Isn't it easier to talk to a friend or stranger about your political beliefs than about your faith in Christ?
What were we told to do?

"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:18-20

May we ALL be saved through the wonderful love of God by the sacrifice of His Son for all of our sins!

* There is another subject that would detract from this topic so we'll save it for later.

Respect for God's Annointed...

We can't go there again!

Okay, a little self-disclosure: My politics are generally what the media would label as "conservative." The election did not go my way. Although I am not a huge John McCain fan, I appreciated his selection of Sara Palin for his Vice-President and would have much preferred his election to that of President-elect Obama.

I have deeply-held disagreement with the policies that an Obama administration is likely to pursue. But now I see an issue developing that is far, far worse than the difficulties that a conservative has with a liberal administration.

People are asking Christians to turn against the coming administration. They want to replay the savage treatment given to President Clinton during his administration. The idea is that we should resist, impair, and hinder this administration to impede the President's policies and weaken his party's political fortunes.

Honestly, if this were an issue of strategy or personal preference in how to address Obama's presidency, I guess that answer would be as good as any other. That IS a good answer by the world's standards.

But, if we are serving the Lord God Almighty that answer is completely unacceptable. This is a good time to re-read the first part of Romans 13, verses 1-7:

"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.

6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor."

The Holy Bible : New International Version. electronic ed. Grand Rapids : Zondervan, 1996, c1984, S. Ro 13:1-7

I have, over the course of the Bush administrations, come to confess and repent that my attitude and approach to President Clinton's administration was contrary to God's Word and Will. In fact, last week a dear Christian friend asked me a question that really struck at my heart:

"What would the Clinton administration have been like
if we had prayed for our President as feverishly
as we resisted his policies?"

That stopped me in my tracks. What could God have done with our prayers? Our offerings are always so small, so unworthy... and yet, by His Love, God creates honor in them and applies His mighty power and.. then we stand amazed!

Keeping in mind that God, when speaking to Saul, called David "a man after his own heart" in 1 Samuel 13:14:

"But now your kingdom will not endure; the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.”

The Holy Bible : New International Version. electronic ed. Grand Rapids : Zondervan, 1996, c1984, S. 1 Sa 13:14

(Wouldn't you just love to have God call you "A Man/A Woman after My Own Heart."?)

David had many ups and downs in his life as he in turn held to the highest standards of seeking God's will and then sank to the lowest depths of depravity. One time when David hit a godly high note was when Saul was pursuing David to kill him. Let's take a look at David treated an unjust king:

1 Samuel 24
"After Saul returned from pursuing the Philistines, he was told, “David is in the Desert of En Gedi.” 2 So Saul took three thousand chosen men from all Israel and set out to look for David and his men near the Crags of the Wild Goats.

3 He came to the sheep pens along the way; a cave was there, and Saul went in to relieve himself. David and his men were far back in the cave. 4 The men said, “This is the day the Lord spoke of when he saida to you, ‘I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.’ ” Then David crept up unnoticed and cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.

5 Afterward, David was conscience-stricken for having cut off a corner of his robe. 6 He said to his men, “The Lord forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, or lift my hand against him; for he is the anointed of the Lord.” 7 With these words David rebuked his men and did not allow them to attack Saul. And Saul left the cave and went his way.

8 Then David went out of the cave and called out to Saul, “My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground. 9 He said to Saul, “Why do you listen when men say, ‘David is bent on harming you’? 10 This day you have seen with your own eyes how the Lord delivered you into my hands in the cave. Some urged me to kill you, but I spared you; I said, ‘I will not lift my hand against my master, because he is the Lord’s anointed.’ 11 See, my father, look at this piece of your robe in my hand! I cut off the corner of your robe but did not kill you. Now understand and recognize that I am not guilty of wrongdoing or rebellion. I have not wronged you, but you are hunting me down to take my life. 12 May the Lord judge between you and me. And may the Lord avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you. 13 As the old saying goes, ‘From evildoers come evil deeds,’ so my hand will not touch you.

14 “Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom are you pursuing? A dead dog? A flea? 15 May the Lord be our judge and decide between us. May he consider my cause and uphold it; may he vindicate me by delivering me from your hand.”

16 When David finished saying this, Saul asked, “Is that your voice, David my son?” And he wept aloud. 17 “You are more righteous than I,” he said. “You have treated me well, but I have treated you badly. 18 You have just now told me of the good you did to me; the Lord delivered me into your hands, but you did not kill me. 19 When a man finds his enemy, does he let him get away unharmed? May the Lord reward you well for the way you treated me today. 20 I know that you will surely be king and that the kingdom of Israel will be established in your hands. 21 Now swear to me by the Lord that you will not cut off my descendants or wipe out my name from my father’s family.”

22 So David gave his oath to Saul. Then Saul returned home, but David and his men went up to the stronghold."

The Holy Bible : New International Version. electronic ed. Grand Rapids : Zondervan, 1996, c1984, S. 1 Sa 24:1-22

Are we to do less?

Some believe that Obama is an "end-time" prophesy fulfilled. Some believe that Obama's Presidency will unravel capitalism, our traditions or representational democracy.

[Here's some irony: I just got interrupted in writing and before coming back to task I checked my email. There was a new message from a friend, a dear Christian man, sending links to news articles undermining or making accusations against President-elect Obama.]

My point here is simple: Are you called to follow your end-time beliefs, capitalism, and representational democracy OR are you following Our Lord God Almighty? You fear that the America you know is threatened? We take our "fears" to our Father, the God Almighty. You will allow one, God or your fears, to rule your life.

Don't be fooled by a quick response of "Yeah, but we've got to..." We are now going to find out where our true faith lies. Will we prostrate ourselves before our Mighty Father seeking and weeping for our country and for our President or will we spend our time and efforts on political opposition?

America may thrive for another 200 years or it may all collapse before the end of this year. But eternity will echo forever with the repurcussions of how Christians addressed our fears for America.

Let us all, in eternity, turn back with gratitude and say, "As for me and my house, we served The Lord."

An Election Editorial

Hey all!

To paraphrase Winston Churchill (poorly):

Show me a young person who isn't liberal and I'll show you a coward. Show me an old person who isn't conservative and I'll show you a fool.
Maybe it's all the stuff out there that comes with an election, but I just have to get this off my chest:

After you've been around the block a few times, there are some "new" ideas that you just know won't work. You don't have to give them a try... ...You don't have to be "open-minded". You've just seen it before and you know how it's gonna end.

Think about the recent crisis in subprime loans. Now, take a look at this article from 1999.

Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending
By Steven A. Holmes, New York Times, September 30, 1999

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

...

''From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,'' said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. ''If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.'' [Emphasis Added]

[see entire article here]

If you read the whole article there is plenty of blame to go around. But there is no rocket science here, is there?

This crisis was a long time coming and as predictable as a train's path. Every ten years or so a new batch of young geniuses comes up to tell us that it is now safe to do stupid things and, with about the same frequency, people get pulled into a fad of following the "new" logic because "we're smarter now". (Yep, as a former "genius" I remember believing that.)

So, as a gentle reminder, here are some principles that we might want to keep in mind:

  • A business that is losing money is generally a bad investment.
  • If you sell something for less than it takes to make it, you won't "make it up on volume."
  • Lending to high risk debtors at regular rates creates losses greater than any premium you may receive for making the loan. (Doing so at higher rates, AKA "Loan Sharking", is another matter... )
  • Even poorly functioning markets operate better than markets controlled by bureaucrats.
  • You cannot tax your way to prosperity.
  • Wealth redistribution... ...doesn't. (It just destroys the wealth for all.)
  • Rare indeed is the path to success that is both simple and easy. Usually, the path to success is neither. (And "success" isn't about money!)
  • Generally, those offering a "free lunch" are either ignorant or dishonest, (and they are counting on you to be the same.)
  • America IS sometimes as bad as "they" say. ("They" just don't tell you how much BETTER it is than any of the alternatives.)
  • We aren't smarter than the generations that came before us. (Believing that we are is anectodal evidence that we're less intelligent.)
  • You will never know or understand all of the risks you are exposed to, (let alone mitigate them,) so it is generally a bad idea to put all of your eggs in one basket.
  • If the prize-winning stallion you just bought looks like a duck, waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck... buy Duck Chow. (That "horse" ain't gonna touch the Stallion Chow.)
The nicest thing about understanding these rules is that they will also help you understand how blessed we are... ...in spite of ourselves.

What rules would you add to that list?

God bless America? He already has...

- An Unclean Vessel

PS. On the other hand, I also recall an old President/CEO of General Foods(?) who said that when a young manager came in with an idea that he, (the President,) was sure would never work, he would still give that manager a small budget and a chance to make it go.

He said that was where they usually found their most popular new products... Maybe the only infallable rule of thumb is "There are no infallable rules of thumb."

Welcome

Hello.

This is intended to be a simple blog on a variety of topics. Some will be recycled material from prior writings, but most will be topical, regarding current issues, (but probably NOT current events.) My deepest wish is that this be an exchange of experience, thoughts and observations and that postings done in love will be pleasing to Him.

Welcome, join in and please be patient with us, (and yourself.)

The Unclean Vessel is...

NW, AZ, United States
Pretty much a sinner through and through. I have two daughters and a son. God has blessed me over and over on a scale that defies any relationship to my faithfulness to Him. I'm just trying to do right by the people I know and love more of them better, (while practicing hard at being a grumpy old man.)
